This saying it is better to not say a lie and hurt someone later.

Even if its bad its better to tell them the truth. An example is secret doing. When people  tell you a secret is because they trust on you to not say nothing why because they believe you. However thats whynyou shouldnt say anythimg because if you then tose people are never gonna tell you a secret again, why becausethey trusted you on not saying anything but you just had to open the mouth. This why i think this qoute is talking about.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 4, 1902. His father died in 1905 leaving his family in debt. In 1908 he hawked newspapers on the South Side of Chicago, while his mother worked as a dressmaker. By 1915 he owned his own newsstand. In 1918 he moved to Detroit to sell casualty insurance for his mother. Stone dropped out of high school to sell insurance full-time. He later received a diploma from the Young Men's Christian Association Central High School in Chicago. He later took courses at Detroit College of Law and Northwestern University. The Success System That Never Fails. In that book, he tells of his early business life which started with the selling of newspap Much of what is known about W. Clement Stone comes from his autobiographyers in restaurants. At the time, this was a very novel thing to do, which deviated dramatically from the normal practice of young boys hawking newspapers on street corners.

At first, the managers of restaurants tried to discourage him from this practice, but he gradually won them over, due in part to his politeness, charm, persistence and the fact that by and large, the patrons of the restaurants had no objection to this new way of selling his newspapers.

From there he graduated to selling insurance policies very successfully in the offices of downtown businesses. His mother was the initiator of his new career, and together they did quite well, she as the manager of the business, and he as the salesperson.

What he means by this quote is that to do good in life to not mess uo cause you got one chance in this world. Because once you mess up in this world you mess up in everthing. Like say if you go to High School and there some gangbangers and they tell you take a hit or you wanna join my crew or gang all you have to say is no because if you say no your being a CTR person dont be a CTW person because if you wanna be that then go ahead nobody stopping you we just want the right for you so this what i think William Penn quote means .

Having a good name means that when people hear your name mentioned they will have a positive reaction rather than a negative one. If you are a CTR person you will most likely have a good name. On the other hand if you are a CTW person you will have a bad name. For example if people hear the name of a thief they will most likely have a negative reaction. They will start talking bad about that person. On the other hand, if people hear the name of a good CTR person they will have a positive reaction and start talking good about that person. Its up to you weather you have a good name or not. Your actions will affect the way people look and think about you. If you want people to think of you as an inspiration then you should start choosing the right. If you are a CTR person you will have a good reputation.
